"Kiss Me, Kate"

22nd-25th October 2008

The Curzon Centre, Beaconsfield

For many, "Kiss Me, Kate" has always been the best of Cole Porter's musicals and the newly revised version improves the dialogue and musical arrangements even further. All the favourites are still there though; "Brush up your Shakespeare", "I Hate Men", Another Op'nin', Another Show, Wunderbar, Too Darn Hot, Strange Dear, but True Dear, Always true to you in my Fashion - so many well known songs in a single show!

The show needs a large cast of both male and female of all ages and the Society is keen to use this opportunity to recruit new members.

Whatever your musical ability, whether you aspire to a principal role or fancy a go in the chorus, why not join us?

Auditions for principals will take place on Tuesday 3rd June from 8pm at the United Reform Church Hall, Aylesbury End, Old Beaconsfield near the White Hart Pub. Chorus auditions are not required although a very simple audition to join the society is required - we just need to know that you can sing in tune!

A comprehensive rehearsal schedule  has been planned to make the most efficient use of everyone's time. Rehearsals are every Tuesday and Thursday evenings but individuals will rarely be needed for both nights every week. There will be a 3 week break in July and August.

So - if you think that you might join us or would like more information then either email joe@bosopera.com or phone our Chairman on 01494 874528. Or simply come along to the United Reform Church Hall at 8pm on any Tuesday or Thursday before  3rd June where we will be singing through the numbers from the show. We are a very friendly and sociable society and you will be made very welcome!
